You’ve got your manuscript finished and now comes the next step: getting it published! At Zone Press you’ll get personalized, helpful service in achieving your goal of becoming a published author. First, we ask that you submit three sample chapters of the book to be evaluated by our editors. They can be mailed to us (see Contact Us) or, preferably, emailed to us (carla.beene@alphagraphics.com) as an attachment. Then, upon choosing Zone Press to be your publisher, it will be necessary for you to decide what publishing program is right for you. Zone Press currently offers prospective authors their choice between two self-publishing plans:
Both plans, it should be noted, require an upfront production fee and an agreement by the author to purchase a minimum number of books upon publication. Once a plan has been chosen, the first steps can be taken toward getting your book in print by following general submission guidelines:
Our most comprehensive publishing plan provides authors complete service and support throughout and after the publishing process. The author works in partnership with Zone Press—from the initial layout to the eventual marketing and sale of the book. The GOLD STAR plan strives to assist and inspire the author in their quest to promote, market and sell their work to its fullest potential. It has been designed with the highly-motivated author in mind, one who firmly believes his or her book has commercial potential and is prepared and willing to work toward achieving that goal. It requires a higher investment of time and money by the author, but the rewards are also greater in terms of the book’s retail success and its potential of financial return.
þ Production/Set-up Cost: $1,000
þ Author agrees to purchase an initial order of 100 books at a cost discounted 55% from the book’s retail cover price.
Our HEADLINER plan is aimed at authors who simply are excited about seeing their work get printed or maybe are looking to obtain just a small number of books to distribute to family, friends or co-workers. For those authors with little desire to make the time or financial commitment needed to market their book commercially, the HEADLINER plan is for you. In a quick, easy process, you’ll get a professionally designed book that’s sure to make any author proud!
